That's right. It's a sweat suit with boat shoes. #Swanky
Here's what being from Pittsburgh actually taught me: show up, shut up until you have something worth saying, and make the thing as simple as it needs to be and no simpler. Not exactly the stuff of a motivational poster, but it's held up across 25 years, more agencies than I planned on, and enough impossible briefs to fill a filing cabinet no one wants to open.
I've worked on the big stuff. I've worked on the underfunded stuff. The underfunded stuff taught me more, because you can't buy your way to a good idea. You have to find it. A tight budget is just a strategy that's been forced to do push-ups.
I love to learn, love to teach, and love the kind of creative that earns its keep long after the campaign ends. As seen above, I also loved Tonka trucks, Zenith clock radios, and skinny orange skateboards, relics of an era when things were designed to do exactly one thing, and did it beautifully. There's probably a metaphor in there. I'll let you find it.
